About IDC's Staff
Michael C. Griffiths, DDS, has been part of the Rhode Island Avenue community since he was a child. In 1978 Dr. Michael Griffiths took over the practice from his father Norman Griffiths and has been in the same location ever since.
Dr. Griffiths graduated from the University Of Michigan School of Dentistry and the University Of North Carolina School Of Public Health with degrees in Dentistry and Public Health Administration, respectively. He has taught at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Crown & Bridge Dentistry). Dr. Griffiths has completed more than 100 hours of training in implant dentistry. Dr. Griffiths is a former President of the Washington, D.C. chapter of the ADA.

Both our very experienced, certified, Dental Assistants have expertise working with all ages of patient - whether you are 2 or 92. We also treat special needs patients and work with IDC to serve patients who are not able to leave home.
At IDC it is standard practice to take your vital signs before your treatment begins. Why? Because they understand how to take care of patients. Both Thelma and Gloria speak Spanish and are there to work with you scheduling appointments or eliminating the stress that can come from visiting a dentist.
The IDC staff includes a dentist and a clinical coordinator for each facility.Each member of the staff has received extensive training in the care of geriatric, disabled patients and defined special population groups.
The coordinator schedules appointments and maintains comprehensive dental records and service delivery data. Dentists and support staff are recruited from the local area.
